Virna Pasquinelli is a milliner and multidisciplinary maker whose work blends sculptural craftsmanship with a contemporary fashion sensibility. Her practice brings together a refined understanding of fabric, form and texture to create pieces that feel both artistic and wearable.
Originally from a small town between Rome and Tuscany, Virna trained in fashion and costume design before moving to the UK, where she discovered her passion for millinery. During her HNC at Kensington and Chelsea College she cultivated her love for textile art, fabric manipulation and large scale prop work, disciplines that continue to inform her approach.
After graduating in 2013, she refined her skills under Philip Treacy, Jane Taylor and Piers Atkinson, later managing the theatrical millinery studio at Rizvi Millinery TheHattrix and contributing to award winning global productions. In 2018 she opened her first studio and began working across bespoke millinery, props and set design for clients such as Selfridges, Noor Fares and Cancer Research UK. She has created bespoke pieces for established designers including Joshua Kane and Galvan, and has collaborated with emerging designers such as Tolu Coker and Karina Bond for London Fashion Week. Her work has also appeared in music and film, including collaborations with artists such as Katy Perry and Stefflon Don.
Virna’s dedication to craftsmanship has earned her a QEST scholarship and membership of the British Hat Guild.
Two years ago, Virna’s husband Marco joined the practice. With his background in graphic and packaging design, the pair have evolved the studio from a freelance practice into a structured creative business. Together they are shaping a distinctive brand identity and developing a ready to wear line that reflects their shared values of innovation, quality and expressive design.
Today, the studio continues to explore millinery through a modern lens, working with materials ranging from traditional straw and felt to metal, glass, paper and mixed media. Every piece is created with intention, artistry and an unwavering commitment to craft.
Virna and Marco welcome collaborations with artists, designers and creative partners who share their vision for thoughtful, imaginative making.
